What is Governments plan to ameliorate the hardship to this demography brought about by the increase in price of food items and other commodities that tolling will bring

RESPONSE:

Vehicles used by mainly disadvantaged populations will be exempted from tolling. These include Bicycles, Pedal Cycle, Tricycles and Motorcycles and other modes of two or three wheeled transport; Also, commercial buses will be discounted to reduce the burden on the poor; Tolling will ensure that roads are in good condition thereby reducing operating cost of vehicles and time of travel. This will have a net positive effect on cost of moving goods and services. Government is expanding Rail deployment on some busy corridors like Itakpe-Warri, Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan with more to come as alternatives to road travel
