OUR MANDATE: The Mandate of the Ministry, arising from the above, is primarily to formulate and implement the policies, programmes and projects of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) with respect to: Road Transport, Highways construction and rehabilitation; Highways planning and design; monitoring and maintenance of federal roads & bridges nationwide; Provision of infrastructure as well as Survey & mapping of the nation’s internal and international boundaries
Driving economic diversity growth and development through continuous and incremental provision and maintenance of road networks, introducing the use of concrete in road construction activities and to focus on the key areas of deliverables set for it.

The Renewed Hope Legacy Road Infrastructure projects are new national road networks that will stimulate national economic development and enhance the nation's GDP.
This is the central message at the ongoing nation-wide stakeholders' engagement on the Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway project, the design of Sokoto- Badagry Super-Highway project and the design of Cross River- Abuja Superhighway project proposed to connect the various Geopolitical zones and stimulate potentialities in agriculture, trade, investment, industrialization and tourism, safety and national advancement. The Federal Ministry of Works under the watch of His Excellency, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi CON is up to task in this vision.
