MANDATE / RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE UNIT
The key Mandate of the Unit is effective and successful Press and Public Relations management for the Ministry, which consist of the following:
i. Formulating and articulating a dynamic strategy for achieving effective and efficient Press and Public Relations activities (Nationally and Internationally)
ii. Ensuring that the entire Ministry’s projects nationwide are given optimum publicity to create awareness for the good work done in the road/housing sector.
iii. Writing of press releases/statements.
iv. Writing of rejoinders, where necessary.
v. Organizing of press conferences/briefings.
vi. Liaison with media organizations to ensure humane relationship.
vii. Production of daily press reviews/summaries.
viii. Coverage of Ministerial assignments.
ix. Monitoring of public opinions in relation to the Ministry’s plans, policies, projects and achievements
x. Publishing of advertisements, jingles and announcements on behalf of the Ministry in the media.
xi. Production of jingles, announcements and documentaries.
xii. Display of photo news on the official activities of the Honorable Ministers on photoboards.
xiii. Production and display of the official portraits of the Honourable Ministers, Permanent Secretary, Directors and Heads of Units where appropriate.
